a prayer for the persecuted
Heavenly Father,
We praise you for the gift of your precious Son. Lord Emmanuel, God with us, thank you for your peace and presence with us always.
We marvel at the steadfast faith of our Christian brothers and sisters worldwide who stand firm in the face of persecution, even violence. They choose to pay a high price for following you.
We thank you , Lord for their amazing witness to your overcoming Spirit and your enduring love.
Your Word encourages us to ‘be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might’ (Ephesians 6:10-
Father, we want to take the ground against ‘principalities and powers’ in our own lives and in serving persecuted Christians. We want to walk closely with you, to be filled with your Spirit and, ‘having done everything, to stand’ (Ephesians 6:13).
